DEBRA GRIFFITHS – ASSOCIATE
Debra A. Griffiths practices in the areas of family law, real estate and estate planning. Debbie also assists families with the process of having a guardian appointed to assist their loved one when that person becomes unable to take appropriate care of himself or herself.
Debbie began working part time as a receptionist in a law firm in Greenville, North Carolina while she was a student at East Carolina University. In 1990, she graduated from East Carolina with a B.A. in Psychology and minor in Business Administration. Shortly after her graduation, Debbie accepted a position as a paralegal with another firm in Greenville where she worked in the areas of social security disability, Medicaid, residential real estate transactions and estate planning. In 1997, Debbie moved to Raleigh and, in 1999, she began the evening program at North Carolina Central University School of Law. During this time, she worked as a paralegal in the areas of civil litigation and residential real estate transactions. She received her J.D. degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2003.
Debbie is a member of the Wake County Bar Association, 10th Judicial District Bar Association and the Family Law, Real Property and Estate Planning sections of the North Carolina Bar Association. Debbie has been a speaker before the Legal Assistant’s Division of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers regarding Estate Administration and Guardianship issues. She has also served on the Family Law Section Committee of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers and has written case law updates for that section.
